John strolled into Redemption Island, woke up his wife, and asked Marissa to take a hike while he and Candice enjoyed some tropical alone-time. Just kidding. But that would’ve been a better start to Drama At The Redemption Island Arena which is all about Brad and what a Brad he’s being, and something about cold peppers.

So here’s what happened at Redemption Island. John, Candice, and Marissa competed in one of those run-a-giant-key-thing-through-a-rope-course-to-unlock-puzzle-pieces-and-solve-the-damned-puzzle challenges.  John and Candice won, making them the first husband and wife team on Survivor. To piss off Brad, Candice told John to give the clue to Brad’s wife, Monica, since it would put a target on her back. He did, and then Brad told Monica to toss the clue into the fire before anybody can read it, which she did. So basically the men just did whatever their wife told them to do, which is kind of funny slash sad.

There was a super cute moment back at the returning players’ camp where Gervase and an injured Tyson with his arm in a sling explained their daily activities, which includes secret coconut drinking. But they’re no dummies. They make sure to break open the coconuts a different way each time so that nobody suspects that they’ve been drinking them on the sly. When the women find the pile of empty coconuts, they can’t figure out what’s emptying them out. Then Monica suggests maybe it’s a crab, and boom. Nature. Those crazy, crazy crab bastards drinking all of the sweet coconut water.

The immunity challenge was your standard boring massive water course ending in a puzzle. The newbies rocked the water course and then crapped out on the puzzle like they always do, so the returning players won immunity. Which means the newbies lost to a one armed man and a boat full of moms. Ouch.

There was lots of scrambling back at camp, with Brad choosing to send home Caleb because he doesn’t have a loved one in the game. See, his ultimate plan is to merge the tribes and team up with all of the loved ones in a giant snugglefest of happiness. But once they got to Jeff’s Campfire Of Truth, Caleb wasn’t going down without a fight and spelled it all out for the crowd—he was voting for Brad, because Brad is such a Brad.

Time to vote. Three votes for Brad, and three votes for Ciera. Time for everyone who isn’t named Brad or Ciera to revote. Three votes for Brad which is enough to snuff out his torch and send him to Redemption Island with John and Candice. Bold move, newbies.
